Christmas has been gradually creeping closer for some time – I saw the first Christmas chocolates in the shops at the end of August! And with the decorations, cakes and other Christmas stock appearing in the shops, now is the time to think about how to fit the whole family around the table this festive season.
Roomy Rochford
The Rochford Extending Table is the newest in the Old Charm Collection and is proving popular! With a smooth end-extending mechanism and two leaves within the table, the Rochford extends by a huge 90cm, going from a 6- to a 10-seater. Plenty of room for a turkey and all the trimmings! (Just keep the sprouts at the opposite end to me!)
The OC3190 Dining Chairs work perfectly with the Rochford Table as seen top right. The legs feature the same turnings as the table, and are our first turnings to not end with a block. Lengthy Lambourn
Another option in the Old Charm Collection is the Lambourn. This table has a beautiful planked top surface, and again has 2 leaves that store within. The turned pedestal legs are stable and don’t get in the way of chair legs, meaning that the chairs tuck in nicely when not in use.
Depending on the size of your dining room, the Lambourn is available in a 5ft or 6ft size. Both use a reciprocal mechanism that can easily be extended by one person while the other prepares the feast! The 5ft table extends from 153cm when closed to 238cm fully extended, while the 6ft extends from 183-268cm.

The OC2802 is an upholstered dining chair with the seat and back covered in a fabric of your choice. This chair beautifully complements the Lambourn Table. If you want more of a classic look, the OC2822 still features an upholstered seat, but has a wooden back. Again, the turnings on the legs of both of these chairs work well with the turnings featured on the table.

Plenty of choice
Perhaps Old Charm isn’t your style, but why not take a look at Chatsworth? This collection has a chunky country feel to it, and is available in Flaxen or Fumed Oak colours. The Chatsworth End Extending Dining Table is ideal for festive celebrations, or any other occasion with a lot of guests. The two flaps are stored inside the table and fold out to extend it from 140cm-190cm, providing ample space for 8 people.
For a much more modern feel, how about the Oskar Extending Table. This piece is in a Natural Chalk wood finish, and features clean straight lines and a floating top. With space for 6 to sit around the table, the Oskar table is 150cm in length when closed, and 200cm when extended. The Oskar has very distinctive and modern-looking dining chairs, with an upholstered back that stretches down to the floor. These can be upholstered in a fabric of your choice.
