Customer service is at the heart of what we do
We pride ourselves on going the extra mile and providing a great customer experience. Nobody knows how to do that better than Lisa, our Sales Office Manager and Wood Bros Wonderwoman! Lisa has been at Wood Bros for an astounding 33 years, and was kind enough to take some time out of her busy day to talk to us!
What does your role here involve?
All things customer service – orders, after sales support, repairs, fittings (hinges and handles), deliveries, sample and brochure requests, special orders such as Customer’s Own Material and general customer and stockist enquiries!
And how has the job changed since you’ve been here?
It is much more digital now – a lot of business is done through the computer, from receiving and entering orders to keeping track of stock and organising deliveries. We also have the website of course, which is vital for customers to see what we have to offer without having to leave their homes.
Take us through a typical work day in the life of Lisa!
I start at 9am, and firstly will answer any email enquiries. Then I will process the orders that we have received from stockists and spend some time posting out fittings, samples and brochures to customers. I also liaise with different departments throughout the day, such as purchasing, accounts and despatch, as well as taking phone calls!
What other roles have you been in since you started?
I started as an office junior in sales, and have also worked in accounts, the computer room and the sales office before becoming Sales Office Manager.
Are there any job roles that you haven’t done and would like to try?
No, I’m happy where I am!
What is your favourite part of the job?
It is nice to receive good feedback and compliments from customers that I’ve helped, even if it was something as simple as replying to their email!
Also I enjoy being part of the business – the fact that we’re still here after all these years and are still a family business is a great achievement, and I am proud to be a part of that.
