Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge

Getting Young People into Business The CVS for Broxbourne and East Herts have launched this year's Dragons' Apprentice Challenge which encourages young people to experience entrepreneurship. The premise is that students come up with a business idea and are given startup capital for the idea. Junior schools receive £50 whilst secondary schools receive £100 which they must then turn into profit.Each team is paired with a Dragon - a local businessperson who acts as their mentor for the duration of the event. Barclays, East Herts Council and Stansted Airport are just some of the companies participating.Ian Richardson is the Chief Officer of CVS for Broxbourne and East Herts. I sat down with Elly this time, who has been in multiple roles over her 20 years at Wood Bros. What roles have you been in since you started at Wood Bros? I started as a marketing and PR assistant and then executive. Favourite Festive Fare

Christmas has been creeping up on us for some time now, and it is hard to believe that it's so close now. I can already taste the succulent turkey, the roast vegetables, and my personal favourite: pigs in blankets! The one thing that divides a lot of people though is Brussels sprouts. In a survey in the office and warehouse, 71% of people said that they like Brussels sprouts, while 29% said that they didn't. Perhaps it depends on how they are cooked. And with that, we bring you some of the office's favourite festive recipes for vegetables, the turkey (or vegetarian equivalent) and the dessert!
